UHSG Hiking and Nature Club Off to a Great Start

By S.B. Age 14

Once a month a small group of homeschoolers of all ages gather to go on a short hike with different scenery each time. One of the more recent hikes took place in Winnweiler where the group was assigned to find three different examples of textures, such as moss or bark. It had just rained that day which turned out to make it easier to spot textures because the rain water made the forest colors much more vibrant, which also added to the scenery.
After the hike had finished everyone sat down to eat some food at the small Hütte near the trail start. Then, after that was a game of tag and just regular playground fun. After over two hours of fun the hike had finished until next time!
